SABI AGRI RECEIVES THE ” CO2 FOOT PRINT ” AND ” CO2 REDUCTION ” BADGES AWARDED BY THE EIC (EUROPEAN INNOVATION COUNCIL) FOR ITS COMMITMENT TO REDUCING ITS CARBON FOOTPRINT.
By being awarded the prestigious and selective EIC Accelerator innovation program with its SWARM project (collaborative fleet of electric robots) and after a selection process of several months, to which many European companies applied, SABI AGRI has the privilege of joining the EIC GHG program.
The EIC Greenhouse Gas Programme is an acceleration programme that facilitates and accompanies companies in the evaluation, monitoring and reduction of their carbon footprint thanks to a powerful tool and a support service. The program has several different aspects, including co-creation activities with partners and peers, monthly webinars, and other specific resources to support companies in mitigating their footprint.
SABI AGRI has been committed to preserving the environment since its creation in 2017. The company was born with the ambition to build a sustainable world by designing agroecological agri-equipment. Thus, it was an obvious choice for SABI AGRI to participate in this program that allows it to reduce its impact as well as that of its employees to further fight against climate change.
SABI AGRI has received the first badge of this “CO2 Footprint” label. It validates the implementation of a system to evaluate and quantify the carbon footprint (greenhouse gas emissions) of the company’s global activities: production, energy consumption, waste, travel, etc.
Following this first badge, SABI AGRI also obtained the second “CO2 Reduction” badge from the EIC. The company has thus implemented an action plan to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 25% over 5 years. SABI AGRI’s ambition is to become a low-carbon company.
ABOUT THE EIC
The European Innovation Council (EIC) is part of the European Horizon Europe program. It has a budget of €10.1 billion to support disruptive innovations from the initial research phase to proof of concept and commercialization of the innovation. In this way, it participates in the growth of start-ups and SMEs that join the community through various work programs (EIC Accelerator, EIC pathfinder, EIC transition for example).
